I’m a community gardener living in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. At the Clinton Community Garden, where I’ve been happily gardening for many years, I run the community food-scrap composting project and take care of a children’s garden. I also teach preschool kids about gardening and nature. The kids and I keep a container garden going in the schoolyard as well as an indoor garden in the schoolroom. I give workshops on community gardening, approaches for teaching kids about gardening, and composting. I completed a certificate in gardening at the New York Botanical Garden in 2017 and I have begun to care for private gardens. I am particularly interested in sustainable gardening, emphasizing the use of native plants.
